Suzi Quatro comes to Toowoomba 22nd Feb 2015

Book your family accommodation at Laguna Apartments for Celebrating 50 years of performing, Suzi Quatro returns in January 2015 for her last Australian tour. With 30 Australian tours under her belt, this will be the final chance for Australian fans to see their rocker Suzi on stage. She will be in Empire Theatres Toowoomba the 22nd February  2105. Laguna Apartments is only 500 meters away.

Australian promoter Harley Medcalf, Duet Productions said," This will be our 15th Suzi Quatro tour. Duet Productions did the first ever Australian tour in the 70’s, so it’s a great honour to be presenting the Final One for the Wild One."

Born in Detroit Michigan, Suzi was raised in a musical family who all played various instruments. Suzi made her stage debut, playing bongos in her father’s Jazz band, The Quatro Trio. From an early age, she studied classical piano and percussion and at the age of 14 began an all girl band with her sister Patti calling themselves The Pleasure Seekers. Suzi was ‘told’ she would be playing bass guitar which was as tall as she was and also became the lead singer. In 1969 they changed their name to Cradle and it was this band that caught the attention of famed record producer Mickie Most who offered her a solo contract.

This is your last chance to see Suzi Live in Australia – don't miss these shows!

Maintenance free water features & Vertical Gardens combined

Everyone loves a water feature so why not make it a big one and combine it with a vertical garden to make it even better?  Better still why not put fish in the water and via a biological filter use their waste to feed the plants in the vertical garden?  (A form of aquaponics)

This becomes virtually maintenance free if set up correctly at the start.  Add a few water lilies and aquatic plants and you have an ecological hotspot that will attract frogs and all sorts of wonderful wildlife and will give endless hours of peaceful enjoyment and discovery as the feature matures over time.

It is not as hard as it seems!  With the vertical garden part of the project there are many kits and packages on the market for smaller projects available from most large hardware stores and several ones are available for larger projects from companies listed on the internet.  The one used at the Laguna Serviced Apartments was purchased from “Atlantis” (www.gstore.com.au/AtlantisGro-Wall) and as everything is supplied flat pack and with a great instruction manual, I would recommend it wholeheartedly.

The water feature side of things can be researched once again on the internet as can be the set up for using the fish waste to supply the nutrients for the plants in the vertical garden.  To our knowledge this is the first set up of its kind in Toowoomba and has generated a huge amount of interest and provided inspiration and tranquillity to many guests and visitors.

Don’t be afraid to have a go, if you need any help or need to discuss a project you have in mind then please feel free to come and have a look and ask for Jon Abraham. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
